Gogo speed up in-flight Wi-Fi
Published on Nov 20, 2012
Gogo, the provider of in-flight connectivity, has launched its latest Wi-Fi technology, offering triple the speed of the previous version. The ATG-4 solution has already been installed on three airlines - Delta Air Lines, US Airways and Virgin America - and is capable of delivering a peak speed of 9.8 Mbps, compared to just 3.1 Mbps offered by the previous air-to-ground network. Currently, Gogo has installed the product on more than 25 aircraft, but said it expects to roll out ATG-4 on "hundreds of aircraft" before the end of 2013. As well as the three existing airlines, American and United are expected to install ATG-4 in the coming months.
