THAI adjusts northern schedule for festival
11/9/2012

Thai Airways International (THAI) has announced some adjustments to its services to the northern Thai cities of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai during the forthcoming Loi Kratong festival. During the festival, which this year takes place from 27-29 November, Thais living the northern provinces will participate in night time lantern-lighting ceremonies. To cater for this, THAI is suspending some evening flights on the Bangkok-Chiang Mai route and Bangkok-Chiang Rai route to avoid the lanterns being sucked into the planes' engines. In total, three flights have been cancelled and three rescheduled.
