Typhoon hits Hainan flights

Typhoon Son Tinh swept into southern China's Hainan Island on Sunday, bringing high winds, heavy rain and disrupting flights. Chinese media reported local authorities as saying that the storm forced the cancelation, diversion and delay of 122 flights at Sanya's Phoenix International Airport on Sunday, affecting 4,558 passengers. The typhoon brought sustained winds of up to 144kph according to China's National Meteorological Center.
