Japan unveils new green bullet train

A new 'shinkansen' bullet train has been unveiled by Japanese operator JR Tokai, Kyodo News has reported. The new N700A train, which was unveiled this week at the company's Shizuoka factory, looks the same as the old N700 model, but is said to be considerably more energy effi cient, using recyclable materials. The 16-car N700A has 1,323 seats and will operate on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line linking Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka from February 2013.
