New restaurant aims high
Published on Aug 14, 2012
Fancy a spot of high tea? Well a new restaurant in Austria is taking the term a little too literally. Perched on the top of the Pitztal Glacier, on the Wildspitze Mountain in the Austrian Alps, the new restaurant sits 3,440 metres above sea level. Diners will be able to access the alpine eatery via a new ski lift. “It’s going to be breathtaking with amazing views. It will be called ‘3440’ because it is located 3440 metres up the glacier,” explained the restaurant’s Marketing Manager Stefan Richter. He added that the restaurant’s prices would be kept “more down to earth”. The US$30 million project is due to be open in time for this winter’s ski season.
