New Thai casino cruise sets sail

A luxury cruise ship has begun sailing a new itinerary in the Gulf of Thailand, offering a floating casino for Thai tourists. Thai company Eastime Shipping has teamed up with Chinese cruise operator Profit Summit Deluxe Cruise to offer a new twice weekly cruise between Pattaya, Koh Samui and the Cambodian port city of Sihanoukville. Departing from the Thai port of Laem Chabang at 6pm on Mondays and Fridays, the MV Ocean Dream liner will spend four days and three nights at sea, stopping at the resort island of Koh Samui before sailing to Sihanoukville and returning to Laem Chabang. Facilities aboard the nine-deck ship include a casino, cinema, retail outlets, swimming pool and restaurants. The ship’s 420 cabins accommodate 1,060 passengers. Gambling is illegal in Thailand. but legal in neighbouring Cambodia.
