THAI launches mobile boarding passes

Thai Airways International (THAI) started issuing 'Mobile 2D Boarding Passes' on smartphones, for passengers who check-in online via the mobile devices. The scheme, which is initially available for passengers traveling on domestic flights departing from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Chiang Mai and Phuket airports, will send an e-boarding pass to the passenger's phone, complete with barcode. This is then scanned at the boarding gate, while premium passengers can also use the mobile boarding pass to access airport lounges.
