Tourism boost for China's largest lake

Authorities in western China's Qinghai region have reported a significant rise in visitors to Qinghai Lake, the country's largest inland water mass. The 4,232m2 lake received 201,200 tourists in the first half of 2012, up 15.4% year-on-year, according to Qinghai Lake's tourism management bureau. Located in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai Lake is considered sacred to Tibetans. Xinhua
