China to add new high-speed rail service

A new high-speed rail service will soon connect Xi’an with Yan’an, both of which lie in northern China’s Shaanxi province. Xinhua reported that the new CRH bullet train underwent fi nal tests on Tuesday and is expected to start operating on 1 July 2012. The new train service will shorten travel time between the two cities to 2.5 hours.
