Company offers portable island retreat

Published on Jun 25, 2012

Want to get away from it all on your own island? Well now you can, after a Austrian company unveiled its new portable island retreat. According to UK newspaper The Sun, the floating island measures 37 metres by 20 meters and can sleep up to 12 people in six double rooms. It also has room for four staff and boasts a bar, jacuzzi, a large sun deck. Owners only need a boat and they can tow it anywhere they like. But sadly the island doesn’t come cheap; at more than US$4.5 million it appears to be the world’s most expensive floating caravan.
