Shanghai plans astronomy museum
Published on May 23, 2012
Shanghai will soon be home to a new museum dedicated to the field of astronomy. Speaking at a science event yesterday, Zhao Shiming, Deputy Curator of the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, said the new museum would have experiential and interactive elements. "Visitors will feel like they are travelling in space, instead of watching a 3D or 4D film as is common in many domestic museums," Zhang told the Shanghai Daily. The attraction will become mainland China's second spacefocused museum, following the Beijing Planetarium. No opening date has been announced.
