The Indonesian government has said that airports in the country need to improve standards to ensure the country avoids any future tragedies. Speaking in the wake of the recent crash of a Russian Sukhoi aircraft near Jakarta, which killed 45 people, Indonesia's Deputy Transportation Minister Bambang Susantono told a seminar in Bali yesterday that the country's airports need to undertake several measures to ensure safety. These included repairing the infrastructure of airports, upgrading facilities in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, and the improved management of human resources.
