SIA A380 makes emergency landing

A Singapore Airlines (SIA) Airbus A380 was forced to make an emergency landing at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Friday after a passenger was taken ill. The airport’s operator, Angkasa Pura II said in a statement that the aircraft was flying over Bali when the passenger became ill and “needed emergency fi rst-response”. The aircraft, which was carrying 280 passengers and 26 crew, was diverted to Jakarta where the passenger was removed and taken to hospital. The emergency landing marks the first time Jakarta airport has handled the A380.
