Ice festival returns to Macau

Ice World, Asia’s biggest indoor ice event, returns to the Venetian Macao next month. Following the inaugural event in 2011, Ice World returns from 19 May to 16 September 2012, transforming the CotaiExpo into a 1,670m2 indoor ice hall, which will be cooled to -8ºC. Divided into 10 zones, the event will feature a range of ice sculptures, a frozen waterfall and lake, an ice maze, slide and an ice music hall. “About 230,000 people visited last year, averaging about 1,600 visitors per day. To meet popular demand, we extended the exhibition period for an additional month to allow more people to come and see the fantastic display of ice sculptures,” said Gene Capuano, Vice President of Convention & Exhibition Operations at the Venetian. Ice World 2012 will be open to the public from 12-8pm daily.
