Free Wi-Fi rolled out in Halong

The city of Halong, in northern Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province, has launched free citywide Wi-Fi. The local government has installed more than 40 wireless internet transmitters in the city at a cost of more than VND200 billion (US$9.6 million). Local resident and visitors will be offered free access to basic information, such as the provincial web portal, press and television pages, but will be charged for other sites.
