
Bad weather causes flight chaos in China

Heavy rain and thick fog across eastern China caused scores of flights to be delayed or canceled on Monday and Tuesday, state media has reported. At Beijing’s Capital International Airport, thunderstorms caused 93 flights to be cancelled and a further 54 delayed on Tuesday, according to the China Daily. Meanwhile in Dalian, thick fog caused the cancellation of 123 flights on Monday and Tuesday. Heavy rain has engulfed swathes of central and eastern China this week, flooding roads and causing transport chaos in areas of Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong, Hubei, Anhui and Jiangxi provinces, as well as in Beijing.
