Major earthquake rattles Australia

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake has rattled central Australia, but no damage or casualties were reported. The quake, which was the country’s strongest in 15 years, hit a remote desert region approximately 320km southwest of Alice Springs. Local media reported that strong shaking was felt in aboriginal communities.
