More airports planned for Nepal

Nepal is planning to develop more airports and upgrade existing hubs across the country. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has announced plans to develop public-private partnerships (PPP) for the development of airport infrastructure.
The CAAN’s Director General, Triratna Manandhar said the scheme would help boost air travel to more remote parts of the country.
“The CAAN is mulling this venture as the private airlines... are reluctant to fly in the airports of remote districts, but were charging exorbitant fares and focusing on business instead of service delivery,” Manandhar said.
