Vietnam to host first international balloon festival

An international balloon festival is scheduled to take place in Vietnam for the first time next month, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has announced. From 26 April to 1 May the skies over the city of Phan Thiet, in the southern coastal province of Binh Thuan, will be fi lled with hot air balloons. The event is expected to attract up to 30 balloons from countries including Indonesia, Japan, Germany, France and Belgium. The festival being organised and funded by Ho Chi Minh City-based company, Chien Thang Trading. If successful, the balloon festival is likely to become an annual event.
