Shanghai Metro gets artistic

Shanghai Metro operators are planning to add wall paintings, carvings and sculptures to the city’s stations. The Shanghai Daily reported Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Chairman, Ying Minghong as saying that he planned to add more cultural displays to refl ect the nature of each station. For example, the under-construction Longhua Temple Station will feature a huge wall painting of the old temple, while plans are in place to adorn the walls of the line linking to Disneyland theme park with images of Mickey Mouse.
