Thousands of Buddha statues found in China

Archaeologists in northern China’s Hebei province have unearthed nearly 3,000 ancient Buddha statues. Xinhua reported that a total of 2,895 statues were discovered in the historic site of Yecheng, dating back to the sixth century AD. Mostly made of white marble and blue stone, with some also painted or gilded, the statues range from 20cm long to the size of an actual person.
