Modern travel icons meet in Singapore

Two of the 21st Century’s major travel and tourism icons – Marina Bay Sands’ SkyPark and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner – converged for the first time this week. The state-of-the-art Dreamliner, which is on display at this week’s Singapore Airshow, flew past the Sands Sky Park just 610 metres above ground level, before circling and returning for a second pass. At 56.7 metres long and with a wingspan of 60 metres, nearly six Boeing 787 Dreamliners could fit into the 1.2 hectare Sands SkyPark, which is longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall.
