Driving tours to resume to North Korea
Published on Feb 16, 2012
Driving tours between China and North Korea are expected to resume in May. North Korea opened up to self-driven tour groups for the first time in June last year, allowing 150 Chinese tourists to visit specific areas. Three rounds of tours were organized before the project was suspended in October last year due to the cold winter, reports Chinese state media. Many agencies report strong demand for the tour and plan to restart the group excursions from this year's May Day holiday, by which time there will be 600 vehicles registered to tour the DPRK.
