Customers agree with aviation ‘fat fax’ – poll

A new survey has revealed that the majority of people believe that passengers who weigh more should pay more to fly on planes. A poll by Skyscanner revealed that 76% of people think overweight people should have to pay a ‘fat tax’. The poll gathered the opinions of 550 people. The result follows comments by former Qantas fi nance chief, Tony Webber, who said he believes the tax should be implemented to cover the cost of additional fuel burned.
