The things travelers forget to pack

Published on Jan 16, 2012

Travelodge hotel staff across the UK have bundled together a collection of their most interesting and unusual lost property items. The long list of misplaced possessions ranges from the expensive to the absurd. One man left behind an urn containing the ashes of his late wife, another careless visitor left a box containing GBP50,000 (US$76,000) worth of watches, and one newlywed bride nearly lost her Vera Wang wedding gown when her husband forgot to pack it. The list was not occupied by the inanimate alone. An 18 month-old boy was left behind by his parents who, traveling separately to a wedding, each thought their son was with the other, and a Roborovski hamster found himself alone in a hotel room as his owner set off across the country without him.
