World fifth tallest building planned for Jakarta

Developers in Jakarta have announced plans to create a 638-metre high, 111-storey skyscraper in the Indonesian capital. Local language news portal, tempo.com, reported that the Signature Tower will be a mixed-use building located in South Jakarta. By today’s standards, the building would be the second tallest building on Earth – eclipsed only by Dubai’s 830m Burj Khalifa. Taking into account the existing developments Beijing planned however, the tower would be the world’s fi fth tallest building in 2020, when it is expected to be completed. Construction on the US$1 billion project is expected to start later this year.
