Ho Chi Minh City could be the venue for Southeast Asia’s next major integrated resort. Las Vegas Sands (LVS) is contemplating plans for a US$2 billion resort in Vietnam that would match the scale of its Marina Bay Sands resort in Singapore. The proposed tourism venue will reportedly include hotels, restaurants, exhibition and conference venues, shopping centre, and a variety of other entertainment and recreational facilities. Investment analysts at Trefi s called the proposal “a good strategic move” that would provide LVS a first-mover advantage as the first of the prominent casinos to have a presence in Vietnam.
