Passengers protest delayed flight

Passengers have refused to board a flight in Beijing after the service was delayed for five hours. Local media reported that 53 irate passengers refused to board the China United Airlines flight from Beijing to Yulin, Shaanxi province, as the airline had refused to apologise or compensate passengers for the delay. In fact, rather than trying to calm the angry passengers, China National Radio reported that the airline hit back at passengers, saying; “If you don’t board, the flight will take off. Even if there is only one passenger, we will fly!” Many passengers simply switched their flight or cancelled their trip altogether.
