Indonesia to develop 50 tourism destinations

The Indonesian government has said it will develop 50 national tourism destinations between now and 2025. The country’s Antara news agency reported Indonesia’s Tourism & Creative Economy Minister, Mari Elka Pangestu, as saying that the nationwide scheme would task local governments to create plans to develop tourism in their communities. The destinations earmarked for development include Nias and Simeluen in Aceh, Medan and Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Lombok and Moyo in West Nusa Tenggara and Komodo, Ruteng and Kelimutu in East Nusa Tenggara.
