Air China tests in-flight Wi-Fi
Published on Nov 15, 2011
Air China has become the first Chinese carrier to test in-flight Wi-Fi. Wireless internet devices have been installed on one of the airline’s Boeing 737-800, however it is only able to provide Wi-Fi intranet at this time. This means passengers will not be able to communicate with the ground, but can access the airline’s in-flight entertainment network. Friday’s test flight was non-commercial, but if testing is successful, Air China is expected to role out the service across is fleet.
