THAI helps Bangkok evacuation

Published on Nov 1, 2011

Thai Airways International (THAI) has announced new measures to help ease the flow of people out of Bangkok during the flooding crisis. The airline is now utilizing larger aircraft to three unaffected southern destinations - Phuket, Hat Yai and Krabi - to enable more passengers to fly out of flood-hit areas. “The numbers of passengers traveling out of Bangkok have increased due to the severe Bangkok flooding. The airline will increase its seat capacity in order to support the current volume of travelers,” said THAI’s President, Piyasvasti Amranand. In addition, the national carrier is providing additional check-in counters at Makkasan Station - the main Bangkok terminal of the Airport Rail Link to Suvarnabhumi.
