Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge III to open next month

Authorities in Laos and Thailand will officially open the new Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge III on 11 November, reports Bernama. Five years after construction began, the US$60 million bridge will carry traffic across the Mekong between Khammouane in Laos and Nakhon Phanom of Thailand. The bridge will pay a key role in boosting and integrating economy, investment, tourism, transport, cultural exchange and trade in the Mekong region, especially between Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar, according to the official reports.
