Authorities in Hanoi have agreed to expand the use of electric powered tourist buses in the city. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said that bus routes would be extended into the city’s Hoan Kiem district, with stops at popular tourist sites including the Temple of Literature, One-Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ba Dinh Square. The fleet of 30 buses, which have a capacity of eight passengers and cost VND15,000 (70 US cents) per person, began operating in Hanoi’s Old Quarter in July 2010.
