The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) unofficially broke the ‘mass massage’ world record in Phuket at the weekend. The Phuket Gazette reported that a total of 584 masseurs and masseuses lined Kata Beach on Friday in the third of fi ve such events under the ‘Nuad [Massage] Thai for World Record’ campaign. This obliterated the previous record of 232 set by Tourism Australia previously. The TAT and the country’s Health Ministry have now completed three events and with two remaining, Guinness World Records will be invited to the offi cial world record attempt in Bangkok on 17 November.
