Cambodia to start work on tallest building

Cambodia will start constructing a 555-metre skyscraper next year, which will be one of the world’s tallest buildings on completion. Phnom Penh Governor, Kep Chuktema was reported said this week that work would commence in “early 2012” in the new Diamond Island area of the city “Cambodia will be building the world’s second-tallest building at 555 metres in Southeast Asia in early 2012,” the Phnom Penh Post reported Chutkema as saying. The project, which was first announced in September 2010, will also become the tallest building in Southeast Asia, rising above the 452-metre Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur.
