For many people, maintaining a healthy weight is a never-ending battle. While it’s common knowledge that obesity can lead to a wide range of preventable medical problems, many patients struggle with poorly researched fad diets. Chef Gabi Kurz, an award-winning global nutritional expert, culinary pioneer and cookbook author, has made it her life-long battle to help people learn to eat and live better.

Now, as the recently appointed Wellness Cuisine Consultant at the newly opened Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok, she brings decades of expertise to a serene setting in the Thai capital. At this luxury urban resort and wellness clinic situated on 1.2 acres of lush, manicured grounds, Kurz is helping the team to design wholesome, nourishing, and thoroughly delicious meals.

“This project is very dear to my heart, as I am able to incorporate health food into an international hotel. It is clearly understood now that everything we consume directly impacts our physical condition. Food is fuel, and eating well is the best way of allowing our bodies to perform at the best of their ability. I believe strongly in this concept and I am delighted to be able to present it to guests on a global stage at Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort,” says Kurz.

While spa cuisine may have a reputation for being bland, Kurz’s vibrant menus incorporate a rainbow of fruits and vegetables, along with lean proteins and abundant herbs and spices. Diners here learn to appreciate healthful food without feeling deprived. There are indulgent “naughty bites,” such as the chef’s signature flourless chocolate cake made with 72 percent organic dark chocolate, which is packed with antioxidants.

Doctors have worked closely with Kurz to develop menus that help patients’ achieve heart health, weight loss, personal fitness and more. Guests can enjoy these sumptuous dishes at Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort’s four dining outlets: Tamarind Natural Dining Restaurant, the healthy lifestyle all-day dining restaurant, and Rim Klong Café, the stylish canal-side eatery, plus the Cinnamon Lobby Bar and Sala Pool Bar.

“We are delighted to be working with Chef Gabi, who is a genuine pioneer in the field of wellness cuisine,” says Bruno Huber, General Manager, Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort. “With her expert guidance, we have devised dishes that taste great while also being packed full of nutritional goodness. We look forward to delighting even more diners with our exciting menus in the future.”
