A symbiosis of Taoist and Buddhist traditions, the Emperor Jade Pagoda, built in 1909, is a true wonder among the numerous Chinese temples here. Shrouded in incensed smoke, the temple basks with the statues and carved figures of divinities. The main hall houses the Jade Emperor, the supreme Taoist god. The exquisite wood carvings adorned with gilded Chinese characters complement the smoky spiritual aura of the temple.
