China Inn

While the Sino-Portuguese architecture and Asian interiors hark back to Phuket's semi-colonial era, the cuisine presents a more contemporary offering which combines the flavors of French and Thai cookery.
20 Thalang Rd., Phuket Town, Thailand

The Overview

This great little Thai-style street café resides in a beautifully restored building that is the former residence of a local tin merchant. It affords a good view of Wat Kallang and a place to watch the hustle and bustle of Thalang Road, while offering a pretty decent range of food. The fare is simple and straightforward: expect noodle dishes, fried rice, seafood and a few curries. While the flavors are authentic, the spice levels are tailored for a non-Thai palette. There are also a number of international dishes to choose from.
