Long the go-to restaurant in Phuket, Raya has won a wide legion of fans for its superb take of southern Thai cuisine. Nestled in a double-story Sino-Portuguese shop house, the atmospheric restaurant is decked out with cozy lighting, mosaic-tiled flooring, wood-frame windows with tinted glass, and vintage bric-a-brac such as a gramophone, sepia photos and 1930’s Shanghai posters. Standout dishes include crabmeat curry with rice vermicelli, fresh prawns doused in tamrind sauce, and caramelized and braised pork belly.
