The Overview
Set in a restored century-old teakwood house within the verdant garden of The Rose Hotel, Ruen Urai, or “The House of Gold”, was once the residence of a herbal medical doctor to King Rama V. Today, the restaurant offers a wide melange of Thai flavors with a menu that spans more than 100 appetizers, mains and desserts. Besides popular classics including tom yum kung, Ruen Urai also serves lesser-known Thai dishes like naam prik and miang as well as a handful of Western dishes with a local twist, like salmon satay. Overall, the polished interiors decked out in an elegant blend of traditional artefacts, lush silk and contemporary furniture makes Reun Urai a delightful spot to savor Thai cuisine.
