The Overview
The Thai word koon means "to multiply," and Kooon, a Thai izakaya in Bangkok's Nihonmachi complex, does its best to offer customers a multi-layered experience: ordering (and tabletop entertainment) is done via iPad; the music is designed by a songwriter from indie label Small Room, and well-known architecture firm SO covered the ceiling in angled mirrors, amplifying the light and creating the effect of a "mad scientist's laboratory." The food is small plates of Thai and Japanese street-style fare that pairs nicely with a drink. Thai and Japanese street-style fare that pairs nicely with a drink.
