The Overview

Taste Paradise at ION Orchard is the newest flagship restaurant under the Taste Paradise branding from the Paradise Group. The second of its outlets, Taste Paradise at ION Orchard offers the same fine-dining style Modern Chinese cuisine as the original Taste Paradise situated at Mosque street.

The new restaurant is designed by James Wijaya from Indonesian-based design firm, Metaphor. Prior to completion, restaurant founder Eldwin Chua spent three months with the designers traveling to various parts of China for research. During that period, Chua also hand-picked every piece of porcelain china utensil for use at the restaurant. Primary materials used in the design consist of stone, timber and rustic wood.

The Interior

The design is based on the concept of communal fine-dining amidst the opulence of ancient China. Like glittering scales of an enormous dragon, there's a row of gold slates winding along the ceiling. A series of hand-painted, life-sized portraits of China’s most illustrious emperors are highlights to the interiors of the main and private dining halls. Similarly, subtle impressions of majesty and power can be seen throughout the entire restaurant.

The Food

In line with its fine-dining concept fit for nobility, the menu consists of a range of modern Chinese dishes, such as pan-seared Wagyu beef with foie gras paté, pan-seared fillet of cod with morel mushrooms reduction, crisp-fried tofu dipped in black truffle sauce, abd crisp-fried deboned lamb ribs.
