The uber-contemporary G Hotel sports two Chinese dining venues under one banner - the dinner-only Sesame centers on upscale fine dining, while the more casual Soy serves up tempting and affordable dishes. Both sides sport minimalist design, dark mahogany and unpretentious dining booths, and there are plenty of fusion/pan-pacific offerings on both menus. Soy has more of a mom and pop-restaurant feel to it and the dishes are more simple and cheaper. Sesame pushes the boat out with its creations such as duck and mango chili chutney and grilled coffee and cocoa pork ribs. However, you can feast on scrumptious deserts at both places. Overall the food is pretty good, but sometimes it feels like they’re trying a little too hard to impress.
