The Overview

Located on Cotai Strip, a bustling little spot that provides a respite from the casino madness, this new funky number injects an element of cool into Macau's generally glitzy nightlife scene. It's small, intimate, decidedly hip and has a more personal vibe than many of the island's larger venues.

Blue light and neon abounds – "azul" means blue in Portuguese — and the mixoligists serve an imaginative line of cocktails, wines and beers. Do try "The Bluffer," a gin and orange concoction with just the right bitter-sweet balance. Bar Azul is definitely a place to hang out and be seen, but if you're feeling peckish it's worth indulging in the Portuguese-Pacific Rim culinary innovations too.
