The Overview

What would a trip to the Japanese capital be without a lumbering, radioactive, prehistoric behemoth rising from the sea to smash a few skyscrapers? At Hotel Gracery Shinjuku, guests can have their King of Monsters and eat him—or a signature dessert inspired by him—too. Of the 970 rooms, only seven play homage to the campy icon. Six Godzilla View rooms overlook a statue of the monster's head mid-rampage on the eighth-floor terrace. Fanatics may want to spring for the aptly named Godzilla room, which features a menacing-looking statue in the corner and a huge claw tearing through the wall.
