The Overview

Posted on December 3, 2014

Built back in 1962, the Hotel Okura Tokyo is something of a local legend and time capsule. Subtle updates have been made over the years, but the Yoshiro Taniguchi's classically Japanese understated aesthetic endures. The main lobby, decorated with hexagonal lantern and furniture designed to evoke plum blossoms, has been a meeting place for foreign dignitaries for decades. Zen-inspired decorations and stunning ikebana bouquets are sprinkled throughout the hotel.
