Jakarta
Although Jakarta is not known as a popular tourist destination, this enormous metropolitan city has much to offer. Home to more than 300 cultural groups, Jakarta is the main gateway to the different regions in the Indonesian archipelago. Beautiful historic buildings within Jakarta's “Old City” (Kota) area hints to Indonesia's rich past, while Jakarta's large museums are evidence of it. Jakarta's dynamic Chinatown also sports hundreds of restaurants and bars, some of which are, arguably, the largest in Southeast Asia. The enormous shopping malls generously scattered all over the city grounds are hardly something to scoff at, either.

Food & Drink
For the best of local Indonesian cuisine and intercontinental food, Jakarta is a rewarding destination. For those who may not be able to take the spicy street stalls lining the myriad streets of the capital, the food courts in shopping malls are a definite highlight to sample various different types of food.VIEW ALL
