Mott 32

Traditional Cantonese dishes get a modern upgrade at Mott 32 in Hong Kong’s Central district.
Standard Chartered Building, 4-4a Des Voeux Road, Central, Hong Kong

The Overview

Cantonese classics benefit from a whiff of globalization at Mott 32, a restaurant with a humble name and more elevated aspirations. Though the moniker is a reference to the first Chinese convenience store in New York, this place is decidedly modern and anything but modest. The usual staples of the banquet genre are all present, but with the addition of some international ingredients, such as Iberian pork, and a former chef of the Michelin-starred Dynasty Restaurant in the Renaissance. Expect the usual dim sum for the tai tais and contemporary additions such as lightly glazed black cod. Unlike most banquet spots, Mott 32 offers desserts. Close the meal with green tea and sesame covered chocolate mousse.
